Target Clearance

I've recovered from my parlay into self-pity and am more or less back in my good mood groove.
Those of you who know me are well aware of my day to day sunny disposition but damn! I'm just a mortal. The burden of poverty beats me up more than the never ending need of my work as an animal rescuer. Before I forget: after finishing my last post and leaving the library, I plodded into my local Target to pick up a couple of bags of dog food (all I could afford), feeling so sorry for Me, and discovered that the food I wanted was on clearance at less than half the regular price! I ran to my bank, pulled the entire $89.75 from my "savings" account and using $7.00 coupons I'd received from Purina, bought all 15 bags remaining in stock, spending only $115.00 for 700 pounds of chow! I felt like Queen Midas as I drove home, my truck looking like I was one of the Joads in "The Grapes of Wrath", relieved to not have to worry about feeding my "kids" for awhile. Reeled back into a positive mood, I felt reassured by the Universe that I am doing what I'm destined (and needed) to do.

I must emphasize that it's NEVER the animals that create angst for me. It's hard sometimes living with 51 dogs; between canine clashes, hyperactive pack members and the sadness accompanying aged, ailing or injured dogs (i. e.-I hit Franny with my truck when she darted out of the woods across my long driveway as I was leaving Saturday and as of today, Monday, I still haven't found her despite a search through what is essentially now a lush rain forest at my place and maddening, unrelenting, awful visuals run through my head). I am secure, usually serene, in my choice to rescue, rehab and re-home dogs and live this life. The only anxiety I ever experience is money related. All the rest is cake compared to beleaguering debt. It will all work out--it always does.

All for now.
Keep the faith.
