The Dog Lady Blog

The Winds of Change are alive and well.  We're loving this snow since it wears a doggie out--although I worry underneath about all the animals left out in harsh weather Lots of nap time here in the cozy camper and the mood is wonderfully mellow.  More snow coming, 3-5 inches by Tuesday noon, I think but we're well stocked here.  I've perfected this quasi-pioneer lifestyle but then I've had 14 years to do so. 

After our annus horribilis that was 2010, I'm happily humbled by the prescience of a nasty-free '11.  I am diving into this New Frontier.  I know exactly what I want and precisely what I don't.  It's all become very, very clear especially these past twelve months.  I'm a fan of Karma.  I believe in Yin and Yang, bottom line that you get what you give.  The sign on my mailbox reads our Philosophy A to Z:
"BE NICE OR GO AWAY". 

To those of you who have loyally supported me, my dogs and my work all these but especially this past one, thank you for redefining the meaning of "loyalty".  You know who you are and you know "the rest of the story" to all the stories that filled 2010.  You believe in me and that's all anybody really wants: someone who believes in you and all that you embody.  For me that is rescuing discarded animals, one dog at a time and dealing with as few humans as possible.  I and my dogs might be going far, far away.
What's next?  I won't go into detail now but I've been here before, many times and under different, waaay scarier circumstances than this past year, awful as it was.  Metaphorically burned, scalded, left smoldering in pain, yes, but I persevered through all those "fires" and came back stronger and wiser. 

I think I am this time, too.
